更 means "renew, change, further."
To renew - To change; to replace.
Alternately - Taking turns; mutually.
To experience - To pass through; to undergo.
Furthermore - Moreover; in addition.
Never - Not at all; absolutely not.
New - To make new.
Late at night - For the night to deepen.
