    A beast name. Resembles a dog but smaller. Its skin is warm and thick, can be made into fur coats. The finest material comes from under the armpits, particularly white and beautiful, most precious. Anciently called 狐白裘. Today this is called white fox fur. Its nature is suspicious, hence suspicious people are called 狐疑 (hesitant like a fox). Also, folklore says foxes can bewitch people, hence women who bewitch others are called 狐媚 (foxy).
