A type of rat that lives underground. Body about five inches long. Densely covered with black-brown short fur. Smooth and soft with luster. Shape is roughly the same as a rat. However, neck and feet are both short. Front limbs are close to the head. Claws are large and strong like a rake. Eyes are extremely small. Sunken into the flesh. Nose is sharp. Catches and eats earthworms and such. Often locates them by nose exploration. Also called 鼢.
