鶺鴒 (wagtail). A bird name. Shaped like a swallow. Gray-green color. Often perches by water's edge. Flies up and down in a wave pattern. When resting, it wags its tail. Often eats pest insects. The Book of Odes says: "Wagtails on the plain. Brothers in distress." Hence 鴒原 is also used as a term for brothers.
