The largest animal in the world. Externally resembles a fish but is actually a mammal. Large ones are eighty to ninety feet long. Mostly inhabit the North Pacific. In autumn when northern seas are cold, they follow currents southward. Found along the Shandong coast. Their forelimbs are entirely fin-shaped. No hind limbs. Flat tail. Nostrils on top. They regularly surface to exhale air, which from a distance looks like spraying mist. Meat and skin are edible. Fat can be made into oil with many uses.
