    A fish name. Thick black skin. No scales. Skin surface is extremely rough. When peeled off, it can be used to polish bone and horn objects. Snout protrudes. Mouth is under the jaw. Behind the eyes are two water-spouting holes. Both pectoral and ventral fins are large like wings. The upper lobe of the tail fin is especially long. The lower lobe is shorter. Dried, it becomes shark fin, a precious delicacy. Found in tropical oceans. Large ones are one to two zhang long. Also called 沙魚 (sand fish).
