Words whose final sounds rhyme with each other. Such as 公 and 空, 岡 and 康, and the like. Taking rhyming characters and grouping them by category into sections is called a rhyme dictionary. The division of sections has differed throughout history. The old poetry rhyme system had 106 sections in total. The end words of lines in poetry always use characters of the same rhyme. In regulated verse, rhyme is used on alternate lines, so two lines are called one rhyme. In ancient poetry, sometimes every line rhymes. There are also cases where after several rhymes, a different rhyme is used, called 轉韻 (changing rhymes). | Elegance is called 韻. As in 韻人 (refined person), 韻事 (elegant affair).
