An insect name. Because it flies well, also called 飛蝗 (flying locust). Front wings are yellowish-brown with coarse black markings. Hind wings are fiery, transparent, and broad. Prothorax has a very high ridge line. Gathers in large groups in fields. Eats rice completely. A great pest for farmers. Female locusts hide eggs in the ground in late autumn. They hatch the following spring.
