    A vegetable plant. Stems, leaves, and flowers all similar to gourds. Fruit over a foot long. White flesh. Can be cooked and eaten. Also called 扁蒲 (flat gourd). Another variety, with a thin long upper part and one end round and large, is called 懸瓠 (hanging gourd). When old and ripe, it is split to make ladles, which can be used to scoop water or hold wine and such. | 瓠落. Like 廓落 (vast and empty). Seen in (Zhuangzi).
