Name of a tree. Interchangeable with 章. In ancient times called 豫章. Produced in Guizhou, Sichuan, Fujian, Guangdong, and other places. Height over ten zhang. Leaves are ovate. Evergreen through winter. The timber has very fine grain and is fragrant. When cut into slices and boiled, the vapor rises and crystallizes into white powder, called camphor (樟腦). Used for medicine and insect repellent.
