The ceremonial cap for officials of grand master rank and above in ancient times. Its design has a black exterior and vermilion interior. The back is raised, the front slopes down. The board on top is called 延. Hanging from the front and back of 延 are five-colored jade beads strung on five-colored silk cords called 旒. The emperor has twelve 旒; feudal lords nine; senior grand masters seven; junior grand masters five.
